Raising Children And Juggling Commitments
Raising children is not an easy job. All parents deserve a medal because parenting is often a thankless task. As a mother with four children, some days are a complete blur. Sometimes I just feel like a taxi driver: ballet lessons, beach drop offs and pick ups, youth group, soccer carnivals, etc, etc. Am I the only one who feels like this?
I find that raising children is eaiser when I take time out of my busy schedule to “do things” with my kids. The times in my life that I am busiest, I make sure that I write in time on my calendar for my kids. Each one of them, separately.
I know this sounds weird, but that works for me. And here’s my theory: your children are going to get your time whether you like it or not. If you don’t put aside time for them they will muck up until you notice them. Silly, but it’s the truth. That’s just the way kids are.
Everyone needs attention sometime and if we can keep this in mind things will go better for us. With smaller children, lots of little bits of attention works best. What matters is that you remember to take time out of your schedule to notice the children.
I have to apologise for not writing in my blog for nearly two weeks. I have been busy. Great excuse, hey? But that’s what happens when you get tied up with work. I had an article come out in That’s Life magazine and I have been innundated with orders for my CDs over the past two weeks. I’m glad that I have been able to help so many people.

These are just some of the great tools that I use to help me in raising children.
